This Egli Vincent was originally built in the late seventies and used for only a few years. According to the DVLA records it was last used in the autumn of 81 and then for 30 odd years was in what could only be described as a state of half restoration half hibernation.

The present owner purchased it in that state and passed it to BSK SpeedWorks for a complete rebuild. The bike was stripped and the 1950 Vincent Rapide engine examined where it was found that it was indeed, as had been claimed, completely rebuilt (reputedly by Maughns) and examination of the pistons valves and ports revealed that it had not even been started. The timing was checked and the ignition system revised. A Suzuki clutch was fitted to replace the Norton item that came with the bike.

A tank following more conventional Egli lines was obtained, and with the frame and other paintwork was repainted. A custom seat was commissioned in aluminium and the seat upholstered. The electrics were replaced and upgraded with new components including the latest electronic instrumentation while its new wiring and battery is fed from the latest version of the Alton generator. An electric start was fitted.

The two 36mm dellorto carburettors that came with the bike were cleaned and rebuilt with new parts and a new battery was fitted. The brake system comprising of AP Lockheed callipers and discs was overhauled and new Avon AM26 tyres have been fitted.
